I could make an absurdly long post analyzing this scene (and its relationship to the “why do they care about the unsuccessful cases?” scene, and the “why do you care what the press says about me?” scene, and… hey, have you seen the rest of the show? just generally in relation to *that*) and the way it encapsulates Sherlock’s particular brand of egotism (at least, as I see it) and whose opinion he does/does not value in particular ways, but… ih, I think I’ll put it in a fic instead.
Ah, Sherlock’s just bitter because he just realized that John makes up pretty much his entire hit count.
