Common fandom tropes I avoid… Mwah. I know there are some, but I get so used to dodging them that they barely come to mind. I’m just about at the point where I’m avoiding Reichenbach stories unless I’m given a good reason otherwise. And I hate it when a writer turns one of the characters in a slash pairing into a ‘girl’—which generally entails having them be obedient to the other partner, more emotional, more emotionally fragile, etc. Bah. It’s annoying both from a feminist and characterization standpoint.
I’m pretty sure I have better answers than that, but i can’t think of them right now.
