The first fanfic I ever wrote was Till Death Do Us Part, for a fantasy novel series called the Coldfire Trilogy. It was a missing scene in the books—well, a skipped scene, really; a moment very important to the story but one the author decided to leave to the reader’s imagination. So, I wrote out my version.
It’s…ehhhhh. I can just about read it without feeling horrifically self-conscious, but only on days when my mental fortitude is strong.
