Mostly, John just wants Sherlock to leave off the prostitutes.
When I read the title of this fic I was very very inclined to skip it. Seriously, what a horrible-sounding title! And the summary made it sound like a crackfic, so I went in not expecting to take it seriously.
Boy, was I wrong.

I adored this. I actually like Immortal Beloved better than I like Sensation of Falling. I have a less complicated relationship with it, even though this Sherlock is still cray-cray and often strangulation-worthy and just…jaw-on-the-floor WHAT IS YOUR LIFE.
Immortal Beloved‘s John is kinda cray-cray too, though, in a more subtle way. Usually he’s the functional one, but once in a while, it blows up and John ends up making the kind of astoundingly bad life choices that leave even Sherlock gaping in horrified awe. Frankly I don’t really blame Sherlock for his reaction to the last one.
So yeah. They form a heartwarming train wreck of a pair, and there’s a strange sort of egalitarianism to them both looking after each other’s catastrophes, and if you haven’t caught on by now, I just looooooove headfuckery and weird!Sherlock and quietly ‘something’s-not-attached-right-in-there’ John. And on top of all that, it’s smart, witty, sexy, and sharp enough to cut—all the things you’ve gotten used to out of gins. Good times.
