Every time there’s a presidential election I’m reminded how few people understand HOW the President is elected. I know I didn’t learn about the electoral college until university, because my high school civics class didn’t cover it, which is apparently a widespread issue. So it’s not like I don’t understand why people don’t know or comprehend it. I just wish they did. It’s pretty sad.

I do know that.  HOWEVER, by and large the electoral college votes according to the preferences shown by their constituents.  With…some exceptions, of course.

It is really asinine that they skip that bit in high school civics, though.
