This is true. Don’t feed ducks (or any other wild birds) bread.
Among other things, ducks are omnivores who need a varied diet in order to be healthy. Your average loaf of bread has minimal nutritional value beyond carbs. You know everybody out there is feeding bread to the ducks, and when that’s all they eat, they end up malnourished, which can result in deformities in growing babies as well as issues with feathers during moulting season each year (which can lead to problems with flight and other things).
And for GOD’S SAKE don’t feed them junk food. I’ve seen people throwing them potato chips, french fries and freaking Cheetos. STOP IT.
