Here’s that thing again, where valuing the virtue of ‘modesty’ gets twisted into this pathological hatred of even the most basic self-esteem.
It isn’t arrogant to like yourself. It isn’t arrogant to think you’re attractive. It isn’t arrogant to take pride in what you do, or the qualities you see in yourself.
It sure as hell isn’t arrogant to admit that however you might feel about yourself, OTHERS like and value these things about you. And it’s generosity, not arrogance, to then share those qualities with your friends in order to make them happy.
What IS arrogant is to attempt to force your opinions and value judgments on others when what they’re doing is doing absolutely no harm to anyone.
