We knew this moment would come some day, but nothing in this world can ever adequately prepare one for loss – especially that of someone who stood for so many of the things in life that are essential to progressive development of the human condition.
Through your lifelong struggle, you taught us that freedom does not come easily, but it comes eventually. You selflessly gave so much of yourself (to us) – more than we deserved.
You were no saint, we do not look upon your life through rose-coloured glasses. But when we do reflect on your dedication to the struggle for equality and basic freedom, we remember you as a militant fighter – always.
Your light and legend will forever shine through this world.
