That bothered me more than the Dumbledore yelling, actually.
According to Pottermore, Nicholas fuckin’ Flamel graduated from Beauxbatons. So the movie effectively ignored the history of one of the most important background figures of the series, for the sake of arbitrary gender crap.
That drove me NUTS. And I mean, then WTF do you do if you’re male and you happen to be a young wizard in France? Are you stuck with going to a boarding school out of the country whether you like it or not? Are these supposed to be publicly funded or private? What do you do if your family’s broke and you don’t have a parent that gets a government break on tuition?
