American Sniper review.
Along with the fact that this is the American public being taught to fear Muslims—these are our neighbors, guys! So many Muslims live in the US and they are good people, they are an underpinning of our country’s moral fabric—I worry about movies like this as an escalation of a terrorist war.
Because this is how you do it. A handful of crazy or despairing people start blowing other people up…and then instead of reaching out to Muslims as a whole and saying, “We know you aren’t like that, there’s hope, there’s a place for you, we can be allies against murder and violence,” you point the finger at their entire population, threaten them all and ensure that suicide bombings and terrorism are the only option they have to fight for their survival.
And…frankly why do we need propaganda for a war that’s supposed to be over? We’re done in Iraq, we’re supposed to be washing our hands of Afghanistan. So who are we being aimed at, here?
