Considering some of the events of 221b Con last weekend, I’ve decided to talk publicly about something I previously thought I never would: the TJLC panel at Sherlock Seattle last January.
At that con, I moderated a panel about TJLC. I should note here that this panel was my idea in the first place. I had hoped that a group of panelists with a variety of perspectives on TJLC would be able to talk about our own opinions of this fan theory and the ways fandom has divided itself around it. I wanted to demonstrate that we could actually talk about TJLC without it dissolving into wank.
And the thing is, the panel went really well. It wasn’t until later when a few unsubstantiated rumors were started online that things went pear-shaped.
