So while trying to go light on my computer use this week (resting my tendinitis), I discovered the dangerous convenience of Amazon Kindle samples.  I can download all I want, read them and then instantly purchase them if I want to finish the book.

This turns out to be a surprisingly efficient way to find good indie-published queer fiction.  Which leads me, via the predictable channels, to this rec.

Alan Lennox and the Temp Job of Doom

: IT’S HILARIOUS.  This is not your average queer fic.  It’s like, Seinfeld with queer and POC people if their awkward life-fumblings made them stumble across the path of a giant evil corporation with plans of world domination via work-zombie.

: IT’S CURRENTLY FREE.  It’s the first of a series, so if you like it, the author presumably hopes to recoup losses on the sequels.
