When Wash has The Meta and Doc with him in the desert, the line “Don’t psychoanalyze me,” really hurts my heart. Imagine what Wash was thinking about in that moment. He has gone through what, a year of treatment for his mental breakdown, and here is someone basically questioning his sanity again. He just got out, his mind is frankly a mess but he is supposed to be okay. But here is Doc, asking him questions to see if he is sane.
Yeah, but also he’s used to the Counselor, who uses his powers for evil. For Wash, generally psychoanalysis = mental
violence against his person.
