I love pictures of the inner workings of the Colosseum. It was so massive and elaborate. It seated up to 80,000 people and they would do stuff like fill the thing with water and stage naval battle re-enactments. I mean, we can do that kind of thing today, but it’s incredible to think that 2000 years ago, Rome basically had a functioning Super Bowl stadium.
And I doubt any of ours would still be standing almost 1500 years after being abandoned.
