I actually thought this was Snape’s finest moment. In this one moment, he seemed to think only, “These are my students and I am the adult in authority, and I am not letting them get eaten by a werewolf.”
One for you, Snape.
Not four, though, because this is basically “Hurrah, you rank higher on empathy than a sociopath.”
