Maybe he goes around, rooting out corruption, and disposing of old contacts and he finds out some new punks on the bad guy scene think that they can take out the Reds and Blues. Any way Locus shows up at Blood Gulch to find a million guns pointed in his face and he’s like “Relax, I’m just here to tell you about the plot to kill you.”
This happens a few times and each time there’s less guns and eventually they all start offering Locus a drink when he pops round, and eventually locus is spending half his time at Blood Gulch, but it’s not until Wash walks into blue base and finds Locus snoring on the couch that he realizes that they all accidentally adopted the Merc.
