It’s that in the run-up to the wedding and at the wedding itself, Sherlock finally showed him and told him in ways John recognizes and understands so he finally knows that Sherlock loves him, and maybe always has. And he’s so pissed because he’d gotten over it y’know, for the most part he’d accepted that his feelings for Sherlock were one sided, that Sherlock just doesn’t feel things in that way, that it was the best thing to just repress it and move on, in the long-standing tradition of unrequited crushes everywhere.
