Headcanon: Those are John’s sandals, but Sherlock doesn’t give a fuck, and steals them because he can. He does this with all of John’s things. 

I agree with the note above, but personally substituting sheet for sandals.

Ahahaha, the second I saw the arrow, i was like, “THOSE ARE SO JOHN’S SHOES.”

And I’m pretty sure that’s what we’re supposed to be thinking.  But they can’t actually be the same sandals John was wearing.  Sherlock’s feet are bigger than John’s, but the sandals fit Sherlock perfectly.  (And trhey also fit John perfectly, so I assume that Wardrobe pulled a fast one, because they like our boys to look nice for us.)
