This makes my heart happy.
Jumping off the roof was protecting John. The two-or-so years of letting him believe Sherlock was dead? That was probably sheer Sherlockian jackassery.
I really hope it was, actually. I hope he didn’t have any good excuse to KEEP faking his death other than that it was convenient and fun for him. Because 1: it’s fun to watch fans twist in agony (sorry, guys, it’s the writer-brain, I can’t help being a sadist) and 2: that’s the Sherlock I love to sometimes hate.
