I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed, feel free to ignore me :) What is your take on the portrayal of PTSD in the show? John appears to have it in A Study in Pink (nightmares, psychosomatic limp, tremors), but it’s never referenced again. I have a difficult time believing that his therapist could have misdiagnosed him that badly, as Mycroft suggested. I’ve also seen some theories floating around that Sherlock has a touch of PTSD in S3. Thoughts?

Yes he shot someone for S. or sacrificed himself at the poolside, but apart from danger situations did he make choices to step out of his comfort zone? On the other side, we see huge “progress” in Sherlock. I really find it disheartening.

Read MoreI’m the anon with the manslaughter. First of all, thank you for your long reply. I used the term because I’m from Germany where you distinguish between “Mord” (kill s.o. with malicious intent, requires planning beforehand/trying to hide the deed afterwards) and “Totschlag” (intentional homicide usually in the heat of the moment) which resulted in “manslaughter” according to wikipedia.
Ahhhhhhh, that explains it! In the US, Mord translates to 1st degree murder, and Totschlag…
