What you said about being in control and defensive with Irene- I hadn’t noticed before but that seems exactly right. There’s only one thing I have to say against it all and that’s the idea that Sherlock sat in John’s seat so Moriarty couldn’t. In the scene he asks Jim to sit and points at John’s chair, then looks miffed as he blatantly ignores him and sits in Sherlock’s instead. It wasn’t about defending John, it was a power play.

Yay!  Seldom do I get a chance to say hello to the maker of an awesome gifset!  I’m so glad you dropped me a line.  I love that thing.

I agree about Jim.  Sherlock doesn’t look anymore stressed there than he does with Mycroft…and perhaps, strictly speaking, he isn’t.  But he’s also not sitting within touching distance.  Whereas Mycroft is plenty close enough to reach over and club his insolent fluffy head with that umbrella if Sherlock gives him too much lip. ^_^

…Oh wait, Jim chose the seat?  Crumbs!  I’d thought I remembered Sherlock picking first.  Ah well.  That theory out the window then, I guess.
