They are clearly publicity shots? Which makes it entirely different than candid baby photos. Those were basically the equivalent of orchestrated People magazine shots.

Yes, but they’re BABY photos, is the point.  It’s the zoom-in on the baby face that does it.  Augh, all I can think of is all the times I’ve had to sit around, glancing sympathetically at a friend while their parents flash Polaroids.

I say this only with love, but… bemoaning the annoyance of a parent wanting a photo? Step inside the mind of that parent for a minute.

Oh, no, I didn’t mean ‘flashing Polaroids’ as in ‘taking pictures.’  I meant ‘flashing Polaroids’ as in ‘having photographs of somebody else flashed in my face.’  As in, “Hello there, friend of our child!  Allow us to show you a few baby albums full of ridiculous and possibly naked pictures of our child as an infant/toddler while they sit here on the sofa with us, clearly awkward and wishing to slink away and hide in a closet!”

I have flashbacks, is what I’m saying.  Not ACTUAL flashbacks, but seeing somebody else’s baby picture without their explicit approval just makes me very uncomfortable, due to first-hand experience.

I’m not even saying people shouldn’t reblog it if they feel like.  I’m just saying: Yeegads, that was a creepy amount of an effective stranger’s baby photos being waved in my face all of a sudden.
