To be fair, it’s not entirely just fandom’s fault. Various media use the past relationship as a source of drama. How often do you see someone on television or in the movies who has a good healthy relationship with a living ex? 😛
Which is precisely why games need to start doing it. Fandom might set fire to the internet but then they’ll write angry fanfic and get over it. 😀
I want to see this more often basically everywhere.
