what if john is asexual, but he needs the romantic/affectionate aspects of relationships, which is why his relationships always fall through; he’s uncomfortable with sex but puts himself through it just so he can be close to someone and get the emotional support he needs. then he finds out that sherlock is asexual and eventually they get together and john finally has someone who understands and doesn’t make him feel like he’s broken
