I think too the idea that so many on ‘your side’ share- that ‘I don’t believe it, but I’ll certainly enjoy it if it happens!’ can cause strong reactions. You get to either be right, or you get your ‘ship. Meanwhile, ‘your side’ either calls them things like ‘unrealistic, delusional, crazy’ or stands by and watches while others do it.You get all the benefits, and none of the risks.
