Well spotted!

On paper, I am 99% graphite pencil, but I have worked a bit with charcoal and pastel and discovered a natural affinity for them (especially charcoal, since I’ve just never entirely grokked the whole ‘color’ element of art).  It’s a pity they’re so messy, and that I’ve historically lived in rented apartments with light-colored carpets…

So digital art has been fantastic for me, since charcoal is one of the more easily simulated media.  The last piece I did was done in an art program called Mischief, which has a unique canvas-scaling feature and also textures that particularly appeal to me—although in a lot of other ways it’s very limited compared to the higher-end art and graphics programs (my usual go-to is Photoshop, with a side helping of FireAlpaca).
